Moems: A New Term for Math Poems!

This week’s adventures bring me to Confederation Park School in Burnaby where for a full day, we will be moving to, grooving to and writing to the theme of Math Poetry! I’ve coined the term “Moems” for the fusion of math concepts and poetry that we will create together!  We’ll be inspired by pie charts, graphs, subtraction, addition and 2 D shapes! Students will write terquains (harder than they appear to be), definition poems (more fun than they appear to be), math list poems (where regular objects add up), and Alpha-math-pyramid poems (I just made that genre up). Keep your eyes peeled for a few examples!
